“I came to CV to take a look at the resource centre and I was surprised by the amount of gadgets that I did not know existed”.

In March 2020, life became restrictive and isolated for our member, David.
Croydon Vision reached out to David and he quickly accessed our adapted services; including befriending.
When Croydon Vision re-opened its internal doors in July, David was keen to join in, attending various social groups.
It soon became apparent that David was a linguist! Some of our members found his talent fascinating and he joined our weekly facebook events, to share great tips to the audience.

David thoroughly enjoyed his time on facebook and wanted to share his knowledge further. So, together with our Personal Development Officer, they coproduced a new languages group taking place twice a month where members can learn and develop their French language skills. The group brings David a great sense of achievement and involvement, he is absolutely thrilled to use his skills in meaningful ways as a Volunteer. David’s story is an example of many lives being transformed from despair to living purposeful.
