“I appreciate Croydon Vision very much, it is a community that develops my skills, especially on tech”- RA.

Friday 21st July 2023 was not an ordinary day for us at Croydon Vision. It was not a day for business as usual. It wasn’t a day like the other days in our history. It was rather a very remarkable day. A day many aspire to see. Yes, it was a day we officially turned 100 years old. A day worth celebrating as we prepare to embark onto our next steps. A day to reflect the past, assess the present and move forward with more ambitions and audacious plans.

On Friday 21st July, we welcomed our members, friends, allies, partners and wider stakeholders for our Centenary Summer Sizzle. The team at Croydon Vision has been preparing for a great day. The team was keen to have as many of our partners as possible. There was eagerness to deliver the best and make the day extraordinary. There was preparedness to make sure the event was flawless. The team was scrupulous in its planning for the day. It was not only about the mouth-watering food; or about the networking over delicious food; or even about the many useful workshops that were organised simultaneously; or even the music. We were prepared for all the eventualities and determined to excel so that everybody there would have something to remember for a long time.

To see the smiles in the faces of our esteemed guests; the networking underway; the music flowing; the workshops even more engaging and the continuous welcomes and delivery of food by the chefs and table hosts, who are all volunteers, made the day even more memorable and multifaceted in purpose.

Whilst celebrating our 100th year and enjoying the Centenary Summer Sizzle, we also took time to launch our strategic plan, which will we strive to deliver and take Croydon Vision from height to height.

Towards the end of the event, there was time to say thank you to one the veteran volunteers who has been at the heart of what we have been doing for the past 13 years. Sue Ardley has decided to step back after a long service. We are immensely proud of her work and very appreciative of her. Thank you, Sue!

We remain indebted and grateful to all who supported us in our journeys. From our members to our volunteers; to our funders and our many friends and stakeholders, you have helped us to be where we are today. We wouldn’t have been where we are today without the unwavering support and encouragements you have given us.

As we continue to celebrate our 100th anniversary, our next biggest event of the century will take place on 6th October in the form of a Gala Dinner that will take place at the Fairfield Halls. The Gala Dinner will be a special one like never before in our history. Do join us. Encourage others to join us. Support us to make the event even more spectacular. Sponsor our members and be in the book of history.

Yes, 21st July was a joyous day at Croydon Vision.  October 6th could be even more joyous and phenomenal.
